About Us Robert Sigman and his wife Susanne moved to the Charlottesville area in 2002. * Walk-Ins and Appointments In fairness to all patrons: If you have a scheduled appointment and you do not call within 2 hours of your scheduled appointment to either reschedule it or cancel it, a minimum tanning session will be charged to your tanning package or account as a "No Show". We will then ask that all accounts be brought current before your next tanning session.
PLEASE arrive before scheduled time. (Late arrivals may not receive full session.) Tanning may dehydrate your skin. Keep yourself hydrated like you would if you were tanning outdoors. Contact lens may become dry when tanning indoors. You may wish to remove them BEFORE tanning. For your health and safety, FDA compliant protective eyewear MUST be used whenever tanning indoors. PLEASE remove makeup BEFORE session time. We supply facial cloths in the bathroom. A clean face tans best. Tanning while taking certain medications may induce photosensitive reaction (indoors or outdoors). If taking medication, please consult your physician prior to tanning. PLEASE remove all jewelry and metal from swimwear. (It scratches acrylic). Perfumes and colognes may also cause a photosensitive reaction. Do not use at least eight (8) hours before tanning. Outdoor tanning lotions (SPF products) are prohibited for use in tanning equipment. UVA Tanning Lotion is recommended to tan faster and enjoy a longer lasting tan. Please ask consultant for appropriate lotion to use. "Tingle" type lotions may increase ones sensitivity to UV exposure and cause reddening. If using a tingle product, DO NOT put on your face. Be advised that the eyelids, lips, genitalia, fresh scars and tattoos, palms of hands and soles of feet do not have sufficient melanin to protect your skin. Take precaution to avoid over exposure. Use of lip balm with SPF is recommended to avoid chapped and overexposed lips. Apply a moisturizing tan extender AND/OR ask consultant for great suggestions on these products. PLEASE dress and exit room quickly. (The next appointment is waiting). It actually takes anywhere from 8 to 24 hours for the results of UV exposure to take place. It is our decision to disallow tanning more than once in a 24-hour period, as per the direction of the FDA regulations regarding indoor tanning. Tanning more than what is recommended, either indoors or outdoors, increases the opportunity for sunburn. We operate this tanning salon and your health regarding indoor tanning is our concern. Therefore, it is best to allow the results to be observed prior to any subsequent exposures - indoor or outdoor. Per FDA mandates, please schedule your next session a minimum of 24 hours after your last session. If using bronzer, please wait 2 - 4 hours before showering. http://www.tanresponsibly.com/ Tamarah Dahria, Salon de Sols manager and Lotion Buyer has
