Latest Tanning Trend Hits Fluvanna

Fluvanna County is getting a full-service tanning studio, just in time to get a head start on your summer tan.

de Sol will open in early March next to the video store on Joshua Lane at Piedmont
Village. The new business will be owned and operated by Robert Sigman and his
wife Suzanne, who also own the I Love Movies Video Store next door. There will
be eight tanning rooms and the shop will have a boutique and Bahamas-type tropical
feel.
“There will be nice chairs and plasma TVs on the walls,” noted
Robert.
Salon de Sol will offer the latest and most contemporary tanning equipment available. It will carry the ETS tanning system. “They are recognized as one of the most advanced equipment suppliers in the world. They are an industry leader,” said Robert. Also available will be the Mystic Tan spray booth. Mystic Tan UV-Free spray tanning delivers a customized sunless tanning application to each customer based on body size, skin type, and desired color. The Mystic Tan is a stand up tan. “It is a good choice for those who cannot tan in the sun or on tanning beds. You can get a perfectly uniform natural looking tan in less than 60 seconds,” said Suzanne.
Both Suzanne and Robert are Smart Tan certified consultants. All of their employees also will be certified consultants. “We ask our customers about their health history and skin type. We will be presenting a very clean, safe, pleasant environment for our customers. We will consult with the customers and help them become educated tanners,” they said.
The owners are planning a grand opening in the near future with a number of special offers. They plan on being open from 8-8, seven days a week. The Sigmans are looking for two full-time co-managers and a number of part time workers.
“We are looking forward to serving our customers with the area’s only dedicated tanning salon,” they said. Salon de Sol will carry sandals, eyewear, lotions, vitamins and protective items for the hair and nails.
